Tarot Tips and Tricks! She’s Got ‘Em!

Welcome to my very first blog post! Many of you will be from my Social Media Marketing class (welcome classmates!) and others will have happened upon this blog perhaps miraculously seeing as how it is brand new! Welcome all! I am excited to be here with you and hope that you will engage in meaningful dialogue with each other and provide feedback that will help me to meet your needs as well. Your thoughts and opinions matter to me!

Alright! So….. getting into the heart of the matter now, I personally think that it is a wonderful idea for our teacher to have us write our first post on a fellow blogger in our industry and to give them props. I chose Joy Vernon at Completely Joyous because not only is her blog site well put together but the article in question was packed with helpful information that I had not yet heard in my over 30 years of Tarot reading experience. I also truly feel it is a great resource for my readers (that’s you!) and my YouTube channel viewers as well (hopefully also you!)

Her blog post Develop Tarot Keywords Specific to Your Deck is a great “how to” that offers simple directions for assessing your individual decks by their images and card titles and giving a more simplified “keyword” to each one. She goes into detail as to how to break the images down into individual questions and insights that will ultimately lead you to your keywords and then hopefully help you to gain a deeper relationship with your Tarot deck no matter what version you are using. What I found interesting is that she was able to convey the value of this technique while still acknowledging that ultimately intuitive reading is still a component and generally will take over after all is said and done. They compliment each other nicely when combined and often can help you zero in on the messages more quickly. She discusses how this tool can help you learn but that eventually really your intuition is your best guide. At the end she provides a Video Tutorial from a talk she did on the subject. I was definitely inspired to delve more deeply into my decks and apply this technique. I feel that one can never learn enough or become too good at reading Tarot cards! What do you think?

Another thing that I find fantastic about this write up is her exceptional vocabulary. I just love to learn new big words and excrescence is certainly one I had not heard before. As a writer I personally find it like being a kid in a candy store when someone uses a word I have to look up! My final compliment on this blog post was the gorgeous imagery of the cards that were added to illustrate the message she was delivering. Don’t you just love these images?

Most of us are using Tarot because the beauty and messages that can be conveyed in an image intrigue and delight us. So it does not come as a surprise that I would be taken by these lovely additions.

So head on over if you haven’t already clicked the link and check out this great blog Develop Tarot Keywords Specific to Your Deck. As always I wish you love and light on your journey through life!

  1. I enjoy tarot reading and occasionally will do a reading for a friend doing a basic 3 card read. I am looking forward to learning more about tarot cards and other ways to do a reading.
